Key Features

Practically Indestructible: Tested to Military Specifications

Constructed with satellite-grade carbon fiber, X1 Carbon is the toughest ThinkPad ever made. In fact, we perform eight separate military specification tests—all under extreme conditions with dust, vibration, heat, cold, altitude, water, and humidity—so you can laugh in the face of spills, drops, heat exposure, or anything else life throws your way.

Business-Class Security

Available with fingerprint reader, X1 Carbon lets you use biometrics for login, so the swipe of your finger becomes your password. Intel® security features and vPro options step up protection and enhance manageability when deploying upgrades. The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip further encrypts your critical information.

Patently Cool: Revolutionary New Thermal Technology

Even with its ultrathin design, the new X1 Carbon stays cooler than ever. In fact, we re-engineered our patented fan blades—so X1 Carbon provides the same cool and quiet performance you expect from a ThinkPad.

Longer Battery Life

The new X1 Carbon delivers up to 11 hours of battery life on a single charge. And if you do run low, don't fret: with RapidCharge you get 80% battery

ZDNET : The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is one of those old-fashioned laptops whose screen doesn't rotate fully. You can push it back 180 degrees to rest flat on a table, but that's as far as it will go. If you want a ThinkPad X1 with full 360-degree rotation, you'll need the Yoga version. Nor is the 2016 X1 Carbon's screen touch sensitive -- last year Lenovo released two touchscreen models, one of which we reviewed. Again, look to the X1 Yoga if you want a touchscreen (and pen support). To read more click here

Tech Radar: The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon is a compact and light device that weighs only 2.6 pounds (1.27kg) and is 0.66 inches (16mm) slim. This is light and slim enough to fit into a typical backpack, but for a standard notebook that doesn't detach or come with a 4K monitor, I would have liked Lenovo to get the weight and thinness down just a bit. Business News Daily: A 14-inch laptop display might be the perfect size for productivity, but workers usually have to sacrifice some portability to get that much screen space. Not so with the 2016 ThinkPad X1 Carbon from Lenovo, which is the lightest 14-inch business notebook we've tested. You also get a top-tier keyboard and long battery life, in addition to business-class security and durability. To read more click here

Notebook Review: People who say “third time’s the charm” haven’t seen the 4th generation Lenovo ThinkPad Carbon X1. Lenovo hasn’t reinvented the wheel with its newest 14-inch business class laptop, but they’ve made one smooth ride. It’s smaller, more powerful and houses an incredibly attractive 14-inch QHD IPS panel. The X1 Carbon condenses many of the aspects that we love about the Thinkpad series into a portable profile. Read this ThinkPad X1 Carbon review to find out why it’s a tough Ultrabook to match. To read more click here

Laptop Mag: To make their ultrabooks thinner and lighter, manufacturers often compromise on keyboard comfort, battery life or other key features. While its three predecessors had a few of these drawbacks, the 4th-Generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon offers a no-compromise mix of portability and usability. With an extremely comfortable keyboard, a vibrant screen and over 9 hours of endurance, Lenovo's 14-inch X1 Carbon ($1,142 to start, $1,470 as tested) is the super-svelte business ultrabook to beat. To read more click here

Notebook Check: Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon uses Intel's current Skylake platform, which we already know from other ThinkPads from 2016. Depending on the configuration, it comes with 4 to 16 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a SATA or PCIe SSD and a 14 inch display with 1920 x 1080 or 2560 x 1440 pixels. Several models also features a fast WWAN module, which further increases the already high base price of about 1550 Euros. Our mid-range configuration (20FB003RGE) with Core i7-6500U, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD, WQHD panel, and LTE module. To read more click here

PC Mag: The latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch is an appealing laptop, and Lenovo has made strides in correcting the flaws in last year's model, namely the keyboard issues and the system's battery life. All these factors make it a formidable contender among top-shelf business ultrabooks. However, the Dell Latitude 14 7000 Series (E7450) holds on as our Editors' Choice business ultrabook. It may be heavier, but it offers a longer-lasting battery and lower price tag. With its slim, lightweight chassis, however, the X1 Carbon Touch is a great choice if you travel for work. Tom's Hardware: The ThinkPad X1 Carbon and Yoga appear to be (nearly) twin siblings. They appear to run on the same Intel Core i7 (Skylake) processor, same Intel HD Graphics HD520, same 16 GB RAM, same 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD, same I/O ports and so on. They both offer optional LTE-A WWAN and WiGig docking, too. To read more click here

Notebook.com: The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is being billed as the “world’s lightest 14-inch business Ultrabook” – which is an awful lot of qualifiers, but the Carbon is definitely light for a business laptop. Coming in at just 2.6 pounds, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon doesn’t sacrifice much in order to make weight. To read more click here

I bought this laptop and got a great exchange deal on my old laptop. My observations after a week of usage:

Pros:
1) 8 GB RAM for Core i7 is great for fast performance
2) Intel HD graphics card is good for light gaming
3) Other specs like 14” QHD Non Touch Display and original windows 10 professional are great too

Cons:
1) Price is high

All in all a good deal for the high-end specs.
